My Harley Softail had this problem with the front brake.  I sprayed the backs of the brake pads with  Permatex Disc Brake Quiet and they never squeaked again.  However I tried this on the front pads of my Yamaha FJR 1300 and it did no good.  I have been just letting them squeak and they get a little better all the time.

Are you sure it's the brake? Is it a squeak or more like a
chirp?

If it is the brakes then you probably need new brakes.
Lyndal Brakes are recommended.

If it's more like a "chirp" then it's your pulley and/or belt.
The belt is too hard and the pulley is too soft so it gets
chewed up. You can change the belt to a Dayco Panther
Belt or get a new pulley. The stock belt is supposed to be
pretty good so another option is to send your pulley to

If you own a Gilroy Chief you need to also join the
following public forum which supports Gilroy Indian owners.
You will receive more recommendations.
